Lola 2011 | We Thank You. We Party

London Ontario Live Arts is saying thank-you to all the people, places, and perspectives that made 5 festivals and a concert series a great success. The guest of honour will be Paul Walde, LOLA’s artistic director since 2007, who is relocating to Victoria, B.C to pursue exciting new opportunities. LOLA founder Andrew Francis will be welcoming back volunteers, team members from throughout the years and supporters for a party celebrating LOLA in the community. Ian Doig Phaneuf , LOLA music curator is being secretive about his musical plans for the evening but is expected to once again deliver a rousing experience to those in attendance. Performance artist Rebecca Belmore will also be in attendance as she is in London for concurrent event supported by LOLA.

Solvent, born Jason Amm in Zimbabwe, and currently residing in Toronto, Canada, has been releasing his unique brand of analogue-synthesizer-pop music since 1997. Best known for his releases on Morr Music and Ghostly International, Solvent is also co-founder of the obscure, yet influential electro(nica) label, Suction Records.

What has come to reflect the latest excursions, developments, and moments in the global bass music movement, the APDAP set fuses the soulful side of funky, post-dubstep, garage, wonky, 2-step, and juke into a vocal heavy assemblage of the genres newest and most exciting producers.
