POSITION: ART DOCENT

SUMMARY:
In this position you will serve as a guide to the visual artwork at LOLA. You will be responsible for being familiar with at least two of the artists showing at LOLA since there will be rotations during your shift to other pieces. In addition you will be capturing LOLA attendees with a NOKIA 5800 and posting to LOLA’s website.

TIME: 4-8 hours/day during festival, mandatory volunteer meetings, training meetings

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Knowledge artist(s) and displayed art pieces
• Training of how to be a docent by appropriate LOLA Exec
• Capturing photographs and film of LOLA powered by Rogers 2009 (film can only be 80s or less)
• Activating photo and text capture for integration in to LOLA powered by Rogers
• Encourage contest participation
• Knowledge of product and ability to answer questions from attendees
• Check in to central computer to upload captured content
• Attend all mandatory meetings as directed by LOLA Exec and Rogers rep
• Direct all onsite inquiries to the proper LOLA Exec
• Any other duties that may be needed.

POSITION: ART INSTALLATION

SUMMARY:
In this position you will be responsible for set up of art installations in the Victoria Park and around the downtown area before LOLA 2009. You will be working directly with the Production Director and the Artistic Curator in setting up art for LOLA 2009.

TIME: 4-8 hours/day before festival, mandatory volunteer meetings, training meetings

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Attending Set Up on Time
• Working with Production Director and Art Curator to set up installations
• Attend all mandatory meetings as directed by LOLA Exec
• Direct all onsite inquiries to the proper LOLA Exec
• Any other duties that may be needed.

POSITION: GREEN TEAM

SUMMARY:
Being part of the Green Team, you are required to be present onsite on either the first day of LOLA to help set up the information booth and the park OR every evening of LOLA to help with tear down and clean up of Victoria Park. As part of the Greening Initiatives put forth by the City of London you will also be helping LOLA attendees with proper waste disposal at the EcoStations (recyclables, composting, garbage, etc)

TIME: 4-8 hours/day during festival

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Set Up of signs that need to be posted during festival
• Make sure that the park remains tidy during the festival
• Empty garbage bins if they are Full (gloves and bags are provided)
• Clean Up of Victoria Park every evening of LOLA
• Assist with waste disposal at EcoStations around Victoria Park
• Direct all onsite inquiries to the proper LOLA Executive Member
• Clean up of park the last evening of LOLA
• Any other duties that may be needed.

POSITION: INFO BOOTH CREW

SUMMARY:
As part of the INFO BOOTH CREW you will be the designated “check in” point for LOLA artists, attendees, volunteers and LOLA Executives. You will be equipped with an exec phone list and a LOLA guide with the expectation that you have a good understanding of the musical line up and visual art locations. In this position you will also be accountable for the sign in and sign out of the Nokia handsets to other LOLA volunteers.

TIME: 4-8 hours/day during festival

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Set Up of signs that need to be posted at INFO BOOTH
• Make sure that there is a good supply of LOLA guides
• Contact LOLA Executives in case of emergency
• Clean Up of INFO BOOTH
• Provide quick and professional information to LOLA volunteers, attendees and artists
• Guide LOLA Volunteers to where they are needed when they check in
• Sign in/sign out of Nokia handsets to LOLA volunteers
• Direct all onsite inquiries to the proper LOLA Executive Member
• Any other duties that may be needed.

POSITION: PROMOTIONS TEAM

SUMMARY:
The Promotions Team will be getting together with the volunteer coordinator and Promotions Team Leader to promote LOLA 2009 with printed material before and during the festival.

TIME: 3 hours/week leading up to festival AND during festival

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Poster downtown London, campuses and the surrounding area with LOLA promotional material well before festival date
• Poster Victoria Park day of event and throughout the weekend
• Distribution of program guide during the festival
• Communicate with Promotions Team Leader if problems with team arise
• Tear down/Clean Up of promo material last day of festival

POSITION: LOLA STREET TEAM/ROGERS DEALER TENT

SUMMARY:
You will be partnered up with a fellow LOLA volunteer and Rogers representative to showcase the new NOKIA 5800 by interacting with LOLA attendees through photography, film and other applications in the Rogers tent or around the park. The content you will be generating will be shown throughout the festival in the park and stations downtown.

TIME: 4-8 hours/day during festival, mandatory volunteer meetings, street team training meetings

• Capturing photographs and film of LOLA powered by Rogers 2009 (film can only be 80s or less)

POSITION: STAGE HAND

SUMMARY:
You will primarily be helping LOLA bands load in their equipment upon their arrival backstage. Your responsibilities may also include instrument set up, stage set up, stage clean up and band hospitality. Working with the production director to ensure smooth transitions between bands onstage and offstage.

TIME: 4-8 hours/day during festival, mandatory volunteer meetings, training meetings

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Live band set up
• Background knowledge of recording live bands
• Working with Production Director on stage
• Attend to bands needs
• Attend all mandatory meetings as directed by LOLA Exec
• Direct all onsite inquiries to the proper LOLA Exec
• Any other duties that may be needed.

POSITION: LOLA TOUR GUIDE

SUMMARY:
The Tour Guides will be responsible for leading a group of LOLA attendees around to each art piece and provide exciting information about each artist and their exhibit.

TIME: 4-8 hours/day during festival AND 3-5 hours for volunteer meetings or training before LOLA

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Study information booklet about each artist and their exhibit (Training to be completed by LOLA Artistic Director)
• Check in with volunteer coordinator before scheduled tour group
• Provide exciting and professional walking tour of all art exhibits showing at LOLA 2009
• Direct all onsite inquiries to the proper LOLA Executive Member
• Answer any questions from tour members
• Communicate with volunteer coordinator if problems occur
• Any other duties that may be needed.

POSITION: VIDEOGRAPHER

SUMMARY:
In this position you will be responsible for capturing band interviews, attendee interviews and capturing LOLA in general. Videos will then be posted online for contest use and LOLA viewers using the NOKIA 5800.

TIME: 4-8 hours/day during festival, mandatory volunteer meetings, training meetings

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Set Up of Green Room for bands and artists
• Greet bands/artists as they enter Green Room
• Check in with artist/band member to make sure proper artists are in Green Room
• Interview bands and artists in Green Room to post online
• Attend all mandatory volunteer meetings/training
• Direct all onsite inquiries to the proper LOLA Executive Member
• Communicate with volunteer coordinator if there is a shortage of food OR refreshments
• Keep the green room tidy and free of litter
• Clean Up of green room at the end of LOLA
• Any other duties that may be needed.
